SPORTS FIRST AID

This course is aimed at anyone who requires a course in sports first aid. The certificate is valid for 3 years and a recommended annual refresher can be booked later.

This course covers basic first aid and is aimed at people who need first aid who work in various sports sectors. It not only covers basic first aid but also all the specific problems that arise in sports. Primary and secondary subjects are covered, including soft tissue injuries, head injuries, types of cuts, and many illnesses that could arise.

All our first aid courses fully meet the UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines 2015 as per the HSE requirements.

The content of this and all our courses has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines and come with a Certified CPD Statement as well as a Certificate.

The course is classroom based with practical training using the most up to date equipment and presentation materials. Attendees are encouraged to use role play as a learning tool and questions are positively encouraged.

Training will also cover Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and an introduction to the practical use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

Under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, there is a legal requirement for all businesses to have in place at least, one First Aider per 100 employees. Gyms and Fitness centres with or without pools are classified as high risk industries due to the nature of the activities carried within them.

Sports First Aid covers all recognised qualifications for Personal Trainers, Coaches, Instructors, and anyone working within the fitness industry.

When exercising, this puts the body under greater strain and can cause a casualty to become ill due to a pre dis-positioned medical condition or a major cardiac event. Our First Aid course covers all illnesses as well as how to deal with someone having a cardiac event.

All Resuscitation Council and Health & Safety Executive recommendations and regulations will be continually updated and included in all sessions, ensuring your employees receive the most accurate and up to date teaching.
