FIRST AID FOR TEACHERS

Do you work with children in a nursery, school or childcare setting?

A law, currently being planned by government, will soon require all newly qualified teachers, all nannies, nursery workers and au-pairs to have a valid first aid certificate. Whilst this is not currently a mandatory requirement, we are seeing a rise in individuals and companies looking to stay ahead of ever-changing regulations as well as being confident and assured in a first aid situation.

Also under review is the need to have a working AED on the school premises. Ofsted are working with the Government to implement this as a forthcoming law. Our course will include an introduction and how to use an AED as standard.

First Aid for Teachers is designed for teachers to have a basic understanding of first aid techniques for conditions that they may encounter when looking after children. The course covers primary and secondary care skills.

The course is classroom based with practical training using the most up to date equipment and presentation materials. Attendees are encouraged to use role play as a learning tool and questions are positively encouraged.

Training will also cover Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and an introduction to the practical use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

Under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, there is a legal requirement for all businesses to have in place at least, one First Aider per 100 employees, depending on the classification of business and risk assessments and factors.

All Resuscitation Council and Health & Safety Executive recommendations and regulations will be continually updated and included in all sessions, ensuring your employees receive the most accurate and up to date teaching.

We can also come to you and train your employees in your workplace. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Price – £150 per candidate for the 3 day course.
